COVID 19 Re-Opening Announcement
Our office is now re-opening on June 8, 2020 this will include reduced days/hours and with strict new guidelines as directed by the Provincial Health Officer, the College of Dental Surgeons, and WorkSafe BC, to ensure the safety of patients and staff. In the beginning we will be focusing on emergency and emergent dental treatment. We will transition to more elective and routine care as restrictions ease. If you had an emergency during the COVID-19 closure, or a cancelled appointment, we will be in touch with you. If you are experiencing pain or swelling at the present time, please call our office.
Riviera Dental clinic has always maintained a high standard of infection control and in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, you may see some new processes in place to adhere to recommendations of our governing bodies.
Team members are monitored daily for Covid -19 symptoms, temperature, contact with suspected cases and a log is kept.
Patients are screened with a health questionnaire for COVID-19 risk factors and pre-existing conditions when scheduling an appointment, and upon arrival.
Patient temperatures are taken and recorded at check-in. If a guardian or caretaker accompanies you in the office their name will also be recorded.
Once you have arrived for your appointment, please call the office before entering, we will have someone to greet you at the door.
Patients are asked to use a 1% hydrogen peroxide mouth rinse for 60 seconds to reduce the viral and bacterial in the mouth.
Upon entry and exit to the office, everyone must use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer.
A glass barrier has been installed at the reception desk.
We ask you to come to your appointment alone unless you need a caregiver to accompany you or a guardian of a minor.
Patients are encouraged to bring a mask and wear it in non-clinical areas.
For physical distancing measures, schedules are being staggered with longer appointment times.
Patients are being asked to avoid coming early to the office and arrive at their appointed time only.
Team members are practicing 2-metre physical distancing in common areas, such as reception, offices, and the lunchroom.
All touched surfaces in common areas are cleaned at least twice daily.
Debit terminals will have a barrier that is replaced after each patient payment use, pens and clipboards are wiped after each patient use.
Limited seating in the waiting room with 2 metre distance between chairs, all magazines, books, and kid’s toys have been removed.
Clinical staff will be wearing gloves, eye protection, appropriate mask, for some procedures they may be wearing a face shield, and a gown.
Team members will change into their clinical clothing when they get to work and change back into their street clothes when they leave.
To reduce aerosols, a rubber dam and high-volume suction is used whenever possible during treatment.
Treatment rooms are very thoroughly cleaned and wiped with disinfectant after each patient.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we navigate through this situation.
